Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Helpful to Christian Americans
Review: In his book Dr. Jantz is giving a Christian way of dealing with issues related to problematic use of the Internet. This book is written to be read by a large population: no difficult words, an easy style, catching phrases. It can best be described as a self-help-book: it helps you to scrutinize your behavior (or that of loved ones) towards your computer and offers simple and down to earth advice as to how to change behavior according to a step-by-step method. Dr. Jantz writes with much common sense. His book shows he is familiar with working with families and with behavioral interventions. He includes advice for those who have children who are (too) interested in surfing the Net. For Europeans his writing style and his ideas might be too "American": At times Dr. Jantz seems to be more of a preacher than a therapist and he focuses very much on the nuclear family. For Christian Americans though, looking for guidance as to how to use the Internet in a sensible and healthy way, this book can be of great value.
