Rating: Summary: A good reference, nothing more Review: This book is quite helpful in understanding the theory behind splines as well as algorithms that can be easily coded up. Multiple variants of spline algorithms are discussed and analyzed quite thoroughly. The book is, however, racked with many errors making it unsuitible for teaching yourself the material. Also the authors seemed to create the own notations that are quite different than those presented by others such as Gallier and deBoor. They also assume that you have a firm understanding in vector calculus and linear algebra. All in all, not a bad book assuming descent mathematical background and the extensive erratta sheet that I'm sure someone has compiled.
