Review: "Information Security Intelligence" by Thomas Calabrese is a very easy read for the non-infomation security professional reader. Although, very detailed and analytical when working through the cryptography algorythms, the first and third sections are very readable and provide a thorough understanding of how organizations can protect their most important asset!! I would highly recommend this "how-to-book" to any IT professional tasked with protecting their business' information.

Review: After reading this book I must say that I am extremely impressed as of the quality of information that has been provided throughout the entire textbook. Due to myself being in the industry I will be recommending this text to customers of mine that are interested in learning more about this growing topic of Information Security Information Technology Industry. I feel that after reading and trying the exercises I am much more prepared and knowledgeable on this topic. I highly recommend this book to all who are interested. You will not find a higher quality Information Security book on the market.

Review: In his book, "Information Security Intelligence", Professor Thomas Calabrese grants his audience two things of note. First, he discusses the topic of Information Security with great passion and loads each chapter, topic, and subtopic with key facts, historical insight, and real world application. Second, he writes with a clarity and expertise that I could only posit as unrivaled; this man's education, life, and professional experiences have obviously lent him a great deal of information on Information Security which he gladly presents to us simply and directly, and without beating any topic into the ground.

Review: Mr. Calabrese has written a wonderful book. Complete with examples and in an easy to understand format. The mathematical principles behind cryptography were a lot easier to understand than other books I have read on the subject. The CD is very helpful and the personal touch where you can see and hear Mr. Calabrese answers questions was very helpful. If you are interested in information security or cryptography this book is a must have.

Review: This book focuses on what is, or should be, the most valuable part of any information system, the information. The book guides the reader from the very basics (the definition of information), explains cryptography, then recommends methods of securing the information system. The book is intended for college students but would benefit anyone who has an interest in learning more about information security and why it is important in the Internet age. The CD included with the book is very well done. It has many programming examples as well as interactive chapter tests and question sessions with the author.

Review: This book is a must have for anyone entering into the InfoSec industry. The cryptographic methods are explained in a detailed and easy to follow manner. The first chapter kindly introduces you to a world of security looked at different that many others.
The book is not just filled with examples and explainations. The labs in the back are fun and interesting. Calabrese shows you first hand everything from encrypting files using ntfs encryption to how hackers sniff packets using popular packetsniffers. The CD also offers video snippets of Calabrese explaining certain topics in his book if don't understand a certain topic.
I highly recommend this book if you are in the Information Science industry

Review: This book is flooded with information on Information Security. Calabrese has collaborated an enormous amount of information, and has organized it in a complete and understandable manner. This is NOT another boring book filled with confusing and unclear information. Reading this book makes you feel like you are conversed with Calabrese himself. The chapter tests will help you gauge your knowledge on the information you just learned. Believe it or not but on the CD included with this book has video sessions with Calabrese himself, explaining the complicated parts of the book. It feels like you are right in his classroom. Make sure you navigate the CD, it is a great tool. Cryptography and information encryption seemed too hard for me to master, but with this book I am well on my way.

Review: This is a very good book on this subject. The author did a great job covering all the areas of information security. The labs are very informational and fun and does address the aspects needed to secure information. Professor Calabrese did a good job explaining all the crptographic methods. The CD is a good study tool for students. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in this area of technology
