Summary: Outstanding Book!
Review: A very well written book by two highly experienced consultants! I have passed my 4 core tests in pursuit of my MCSE and am preparing for my first elective test. Needless to say I have poured through many books so far. This book, by far, surpasses everything I have read to date. I don't usually write these reviews, but I was so impressed with this book, I eagerly jumped on Amazon to leave these words. It is painfully clear that numerous other authors are either 'paper MCSE's', or non-techie pub types that only consult with real MCSE's to write the book. Material for this test is already extremely subjective, but Gary and Bob's real life examples from previous consulting jobs painted a crystal clear image into my head time and again. I fully plan on using Sybex in preparation for my next test, too (70-220, also written by Gary and Bob). Great job guys...keep up the good work!

Summary: Not up to scratch
Review: I found this book somewhat disappointing. Although it had some useful general hints I found it somewhat weak on technical detail.

It left me with the sensation that when this book was prepared the authors were not that familiar with the product.

I passed the accelerated exam in december of 2001 and learned practically nothing more on reading this book.

Summary: Thank you Bob & Gary!
Review: Not only did this book help me PASS on the first try, it was very entertaining as well as informative. Definitely more geared to real world implementation that strictly to getting through the exam. Really good strategic & business considerations. The review questions helped establish strong understanding of the fundamentals behind the material. For a really strong showing on the exam, add a good practice test. These guys know their stuff & show it.

Summary: Direct and to the point !! An excellent finisher for 219
Review: This book was a great finisher for my studying of the 219 exam. This book is clear, concise and to the point. The writing style is easy to understand and the key points are very appropriate to the exam.

This book covers just as much real world concept as testing concept which gives it more value because you grasp the main differences between Microsoft recommendations and the reality of AD design.

This book assumes you are using it as a supplement to your studies. If you have never read about AD design to not start here but if you have this will be great to help you solidify concepts.
