Summary: a "must-read" for any parent!
Review: Donna Rice Hughes has produced a clear, concise volume of online basics and important advanced information which every parent needs to know.

Even those people who feel they're up on the internet should use this book as a refresher course. Those readers who believe they aren't "into" computers will also benefit from this book.

Parents who allow their kids to roam the web without the protection noted in this volume are letting them "play with fire".

The internet is here to stay and "Kids Online" in an indispensable resource ... insuring that families enjoy its most positive benefits.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Practical advice for the concerned parent
Review: I thought the book did a very good job of describing the numerous risks a concerned parent faces regarding access to the internet by their children. If you are looking for a book that will help you understand what the issues are and offer practical advice on how to deal with them, Kids Online is that and more.

Summary: Internet Safety - it's important
Review: Nothing is more important than protecting our kids online! This book is a good place to start...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Still the best
Review: The lack of global scope in a book about a global network makesthis an incomplete book on this subject. The author does a decent jobof summarizing some of the issues, but fails to acknowlegde that US laws do not apply to servers located in countries outside of the US. This leaves the unknowing reader with the belief that US laws would help the situation. Although this may be what the author wants the reader to believe, it is not an accurate reflection of the situation.
