Rating: Summary: Not very helpful Review: Exam Cram continues to crank out books that are essential for passing certification exams. Network + Exam Cram coupled with brandumps helped me to pass the test with a 90%. This is a really good book if u have previous network experience and want a quick certification, or if u're a newcomer and want to move on to other certifications. I highly recommend this book to anyone thinking of becoming a MCSE or CCNA. It's a good product and with it you will pass the test!!!!!!!! Geoff Cameron_______A+ Network + MCP CCNA
Rating: Summary: Not bad, but use with other study materials. Review: I just passed the Network + exam with a 94% using the Sybex Network + Study Guide, this book, and the NetG Networking Essentials course (I also work in the I.T. industry). The test was very straightforward - not a lot of extraneous information to wade through in the questions (unlike the questions in this book, which are more verbose). Practial experience is definitely an asset for this exam, especially in the troubleshooting and TCP/IP sections. This book shouldn't be used as a primary study source - its basically a no-frills review tool. Use it with other, more fleshed out materials, or as a last review before the exam. There is a lot of repetition in the answer explanations - you will see the same information repeated over and over again, sometimes with more detail, sometimes less. While the explanations are basically good, the constant repetition ultimately makes the book appear to contain more hard information than it really does. If you already have the Network+ Exam Cram book, your money would probably be better spent on another study aid, if only for a different viewpoint on the subject. Good luck! Erik
Rating: Summary: To be used only as a supplement to a better study guide. Review: I took the exam last friday (6-22-01), and the exam was by far much much harder than the sample items presented on this book. Most of the questions were very simple, and on every set (there were 4 sets all in all) some items were repeated almost to often. Its a good thing that I bought the Network+ Study Guide from Sybex before actually using this one. Although I was able to pass the test, I would recommend that you people should find other materials and make this purely as a supplement! Best of LUCK .....!!!!
Rating: Summary: ok..may be better if there is an updated edition Review: This book contains four practice tests. The answer sections give a good explanation of the question. The CD contains one more practice test for a total of five. You should use this book AFTER you have read a proper study guide. It will help you find your weak points, and help you determine when you're ready. It's not a study guide. You also won't find the exact questions from CompTIA in it (that's a good thing.) I found these tests to be extremely helpful as I finished up my studies, and needed to cram and zero in on taking the test.
Rating: Summary: Terrible. Review: This book was completely useless. Each of the four exams that come with it is really all the same exam, just with the questions in a different order. The exam on the CD-ROM contained a couple obvious errors, and didn't function properly. A waste of money. The Network+ Exam Cram study guide itself is completely seperate from this product, and was quite good. This book shouldn't bear the "Exam Cram" logo.
Rating: Summary: Helpful Companion to the Network+ Study Guide Review: This book was helpful in passing my Network+ exam. I used it along with the Exam Cram Network+ book. It is just as it says, pratice tests for the exam, so don't expect to learn much more that specific statements with this book alone. It was very nice (and might I add, considerably cheaper) to use this book as a pratice resource if for nothing else than to calm the pretesting jitters. I think I did so much better just because my confidence was high after I scored so well on the practice tests.
Rating: Summary: Very Helpfull Review: This publication was terrific. It helped me to focus on the areas that I needed to refresh in prep for PASSING my NETWORK+ exam on my first try!.
