Review: I bought it cause I had to. Didn't inspire me to become a Macazoid. It wasn't the kinda book that makes you want to read it anymore than you must. Two stars is generous.

Summary: Blue & White G-3 Owners Guide
Review: If you have a Blue G-3, OS 8.6, this book will tell you how to use it. The Mac 8.6 was here and gone so fast, that this is about the only reference book you will find still in print. You need this book to know what your doing. Fully indexed. No humor (that alone, makes it worthy of a 5-star rating). Even though I have upgraded my 8.6 to 9.2.2, I still use this book as reference for basic Mac computer moves.

Summary: Just the Basics
Review: This guide will be a help for persons who have little experience with the Macintosh operating system, but is mostly a waste of time for those who already understand the basics. The book goes through each of the menu functions step by step, with helpful images of the screens that are displayed with each step. However, the book fails to go beyond that, omitting any tricks or shortcuts, or truly highlighting the new features of OS 8.6 aside from a few pages in the introduction. For example, the book does not mention Sherlock Plug-Ins and where to find them, tell how to attach Apple Scripts to folders, or tell how to switch applications with Cmd-Tab keys.
