Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great combination of theory and example
Review: The value of color copiers and high resolution computer peripherals to counterfeiters is immense. The optical tricks described in this book are an effort to tilt advantages toward legitimate document producers.

The highlight of the book is a stunning display of banknotes, doucments and ID cards. It clearly shows the advantage of kinegrams over traditional holograms and color-change films.

Theoretical explanations of gratings, interferometric films, holograms and other devices is a pleasant complement to the practical information on implementation of these systems.

I recommend this book to anyone who is responsible for product piracy control. It also is a good read for optical engineers who are interested in applications.
