Summary: I'd like to say something nice about this book.
Review: Finally!--a book about compliments that gives credit to the power compliments have, as a giver and a receiver. Not only have I learned how to give a "designer compliment", I have learned to accept compliments more graciously. This is a user-friendly book for people from all walks of life. Where I work, we have a Customer Service Training Course and the suggestions on the "how-to" of giving compliments were incorporated into the session on "Reward and Recognition". A sincere compliment is a wonderful way to recognize what someone else has accomplished. It also builds self-esteem and loyalty through appreciation. So many times we want to say something nice but just don't know what to say or feel uncomfortable doing it. The authors tell you in a most natural way how to compliment others with examples for different situations. Our organization now has this book in the staff reference library. I also have my own copy at home handy on the bookshelf. Just last night at a Chamber of Commerce gathering, I complimented someone that I had met earlier in the meeting, and she said, "You just made my day." We don't forget people who compliment us. Saying something nice to those we live with also is a powerful force in keeping relationships strong. The book also reminds us to compliment ourselves. I was so impressed with this book that I have given it as gifts to others, and they were delighted to receive it. I'd like to compliment the authors in writing a book that is clear, concise, fun, and truly highlights what a treasure compliments can be.

Review: Finding something nice to say to our spouse, family, friends, business contacts and strangers seems so simple. But more often than not we don't use the words we are gifted with to praise and compliment even when we know they are so powerful. This easy to read book explains compliments and the people changing effect of them. The advise and sharing of personal experiences the authors describe will give you the who,what,when,where,why and how to compliment to encourage, motivate and just simply to touch someones heart. The reader who chooses to implement even a few of the practices described will change not only the world around them, but themselves. I did.

Review: This should be required reading for all students in High School and College. It is one of the best how to guides on the subject. I am buying copies for all my friends and co-workers for christmas. And after they have read the book they all need to join Toastmasters.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: While the authors had some worthwhile things to say, they proceeded to do it over and over ad nauseum. First 3 chapters are largely repetitive. Found very little here that was helpful or insightful. Think part of the problem is that the writer's wrote in too much of a feminine style and viewpoint for my taste. Not a bad style, just not for me. Some good points but way too few to warrant finishing the book.
