Rating: Summary: New Book Version is Out Review: I have a newer version of this book althought it still contains some errors the book is very informative and straight to the point. Please keep in mind typographical errors are the fault of the editor not the author. And in my opinion dont affect the books ability to get you Network+ Certified.Just my Opinon though...

Rating: Summary: Disappointing with Too Many Errors! Review: This book does help you review though it contains a number of errors. I was also disappointed to see that although it was only published 3 months ago, it does not reflect current changes to the exam.
Rating: Summary: iffy Review: This would be a helpful book if someone just took the time to fix all the errors. In the author's acknowledgements he writes, "The weird thing about technical writing is that sometimes your brain appears to disengage." Whether it is the author or the editor's fault I don't know, but someone's brain was disengaged. Until this book is revised, don't bother wasting your money on it, there are far better books available for Network+ preparation.

Rating: Summary: iffy Review: Yes, there are numerous errors in the text, but my biggest beef is with the test engine software that accompanies the book-- namely, it doesn't always catch the wrong answers (I swear-- especially with the OSI model stuff, it doesn't seem to be consistent in pointing out the wrong answer every time), and doesn't always open the exhibit window (occurs with the hybrid network topology [I keep hitting "hybrid", and it's not coming back wrong in the results, but then again, as stated above...]). Also (regardless of the glitches), the software doesn't shuffle the choices, which is a pain for visual learners who, upon seeing the same question/choices set posed in the exact same way more than once, tend to refer to the snapshot of that set in his/her mind instead of continuing to run through the question and all of the choices-- leaving one to wonder if they're actually getting the material, or just recalling an image from memory. Bottom line: Won't do irrevocable damage to network professionals who find this title in a bargain bin, but the book/CD combo is really a beta release at best. Caveat emptor.
