Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The Best Tool For The New Consultant
Review: I'm the author, what do you expect me to say? 8-)

From the introduction:

"This book is designed to enable a computer software professional to become self-employed. Whether you consider yourself to be a programmer, programmer / analyst, software engineer, computer scientist, or any one of the many euphemisms used to describe a job in the computer software field, you are in a high demand field. The demand is high, but not only for those who are highly skilled. If you want the best job at the best pay, you have to be the best.

"This book will attempt to familiarize you with the information necessary to start your own consulting business. Starting a business isn't easy, even with experience and direction. It requires a lot of work, above and beyond even the longest hours you may have worked at a regular job. You must have confidence in yourself, the desire to succeed, and the stamina necessary to attain this success."

While there is some discussion about software development (based on industry standards in the mid 80's), the book is primarily a tool for learning how to become a self-employed entrepreneur.

Regards,
Steve.
