Rating: Summary: Hard to Believe This is Still in Print Review: Don Lapre's books are all about making money with very little effort on the reader's part. They all scream, "You, too, can make money fast! And it's incredibly easy!"
Don't believe it. The eternal truth is (and you all know this), If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
A helpful tip for those of you considering buying this would be to first do a search for on Lapre on the internet. You'll find him featured on several scam warning sites.
But back to this book, it is indeed WAY out of date. Yes, you will see that you should find a 486 computer for best results, something that was true about eight years ago. But the gist is to set up a site full of advertisements to refer people to other sites. By joining affiliate programs, Lapre claims you can make thousands a week. Now that's technically possible, but you'd stand a better chance of getting struck by lightning, winning the lottery, and being attacked by a great white shark, all at the same time.
If you want to follow Don Lapre's lead, publish books with enticing titles that promise untold riches, deliver basic information people can find anywhere (for free), and charge $30 for it. Sadly, Don's here to help himself, not you.
Rating: Summary: More false promises from a scumbag Review: For Don Lapre making money means riding the back of hard working people. This book is one big ad for you to call his office and sign up for a...web site...Don't buy this book or anything else he sells. If you do remember these words, "I told you so". Instead of this book, you could probably get more useful information about the internet from a book THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE INTERNET. Point clear?
Rating: Summary: For novice only Review: I bought this book to have a consolidated view of business on the internet. What I got was a version that talked about what an internet is and advised me to buy a 486 computer ( I cant even find one in Silicon Valley). I think this book is for people who dont know anything about computers or the internet. What I did with my book? returned it !
Rating: Summary: GOOD FOR BEGINNERS... Review: I read some peoples reviews who found this book useful and some who didnt find this useful so decided to check it out myself. Since I know almost nothing about computers, this truly helped me. I am even making more money now from home, then i did working in retail, and i dont have to be on my feet 8 hours a day! I think those who found this book unuseful were those who didnt know how to absorb information.... or they probably already knew some sort of info. already about this sort of thing and in that case they shouldnt have bought it in the first place because this book IS titled, "How to make money on the internet," its a basic step by step type guide for basic knowledge to help people get started, and it sure helped me. So to the author, Thank You, I acknowledge your work and the information that you have provided me to help me start making some cash over the net.KAM

Rating: Summary: DON LAPRE? Review: I saw his infomercial on late night television and he does nothing but tell you how to make money by placing tiny classified ads in newspapers and how he got rich, then he has people that probably work for him telling us how they made money buying his package,I saw more people than what he broadcasted on t.v. he even had a "private investigator" tell us how he made money in 5 hours but one thing his employees because thats who they are dont show you is proof just words I have his manual about internet marketing eh,he has three maybe four different infomercials about his money making package and still manages to go bankrupt
Rating: Summary: Big Disapointment Review: I thought this book would be much better considering that the guy who wrote it is on tv all the time. I knew within the first 10 minutes of reading it that I was going to return it. The published date on it says 2000, but this cannot be correct. It recommends buying a 486 computer, or if you require a faster computer to buy a P75. Everything else in the book was out of date too, and wasn't really helpful at all for anything.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Life-Changing... Review: OH MY! I am so glad I purchased this guide. I went from hardly knowing how to turn my computer on to making $1000's of dollars in weeks, just by simply running a website on the internet. Thanks so much for introducing this easy to follow guide. Nothing could have been easier! You have truly outdone yourselves!!
Rating: Summary: Waste of time and money Review: This book is terrible. It's written for people who know little or nothing about computers, but are easily fooled by technobabble and hype. Anyone who claims that they "made money on the internet" using this book is either a liar, or is talking about a different book. While I was reading it, I couldn't help but feel like I was watching one of those sleazy, late-night infomercials that fail to do anything except suck money out of your wallet. I actually felt myself getting stupider while i was reading this piece of garbage. While those with absolutely nothing but the lowest of expectations, the heavily medicated and/or the criminally insane might find something of value here, the majority of the population will be sorry they read this book; sorry that they wasted 35 bucks, and sorry that they didn't do something infinitely more educational, like sit and count the number of floor tiles in their bathroom.
