Rating: Summary: lynda Weinman the best tutor on the market Review: I now have 2 books by Lynda Weinman. As an absolute beiginner in web publishing, trying to teach myself, these books were a godsend. Written in a clear, precise, and often humorous way, to a technology challenged individual like myself, these books are heaven sent. My wish is that lynda and Bill Weinman get into books on Flash and Cold fusion and turn these potentially brain numbing subjects into the fun and addictive subjects that I now find html4 and dreamweaver. Well done Bill and Lynda.
Rating: Summary: A great book that adds to the power of any html designer. Review: I went out looking for a creative html book. The first thing I saw was Creative HTML Design. I looked at it, and I realised that it was a far better book than any 'learn how to quickly' book I have ever used, and the useful CD examples would be invaluble. As I looked on, I also realised the book almost told a story, a story of setting up the Ducks In A Row website, which led to my new way of setting up a business website. I almost instantly bought it, and taking after an hour of using it, I was enthralled by its capability of being able to really teach you.Overall, It is a great book which can teach basics of HTML programming, but at the same time, enhances skills of HTML Design you may have previously had.
Rating: Summary: errors, errors & more errors... Review: i'm a teacher (and a very good one...) Rating: Summary: Very Good All-In-One Book on HTML (Includes Tables!) Review: Overall, this book is an excellent choice for learning how to work effectively with HTML. It covers most everything you need to know in one place (albeit in over 400 pages), so you don't need a stack of books, wondering in which one to look for the info you want. This book is very useful and usable, but I almost didn't even consider it after reading another reviewer's comments. Luckily, I was able to browse an actual copy of the book and found something quite different. (In particular, if this book failed to adequately address tables that would be enough to question its utility. But in fact there's ample coverage of the use of tables! It covers the basics, intermediate-level usage, tips and some special caveats. Definitely not just about graphic placement!)
Rating: Summary: This book was excellent! Review: This book was very through and easy to understand. I didn't know anything about HTML before reading this book, and now I am working professionally as a web programmer. After reading advanced HTML books, I still prefer to use this book for general reference. Now that I have mastered HTML and have been learning other programming languages, I have not found another book that is as easy to understand as this one. I highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: errors, errors & more errors... Review: This is a very good book, in a cheap price, which is a very good beginning for anyone who wants to build his own website. It's also a useful book for professionals. The book is explaining each topic in the best way, and it also has many good samples, and a guide to the HTML tags.
Rating: Summary: So easy a kid could understand it! Review: This is an excellent book. If you take the time to really readit, you will learn a lot of useful web skills. Easy to read. I noticedthat some customer review postings mentioned the errors in the book/cd. The book has an updated companion website! This site has information about the book as well as an errata list. Also, the "ducks in a row" website tutorial is a real website! Great for checking out the real thing. END
Rating: Summary: Great beginner book Review: This is the very first book I used to learn HTML and it was simply fantastic. It is now widely used as a classroom book. It covers basic web technology, web definitions and all you ned to know about building an HTML based web site from color to rollovers. It gives you an amazing foundation to learn and do more. It comes with a CD ROM that follows through the book and it's extremely intuitive. The book follows along at a nice pace and is also great reference for future projects. A definite must for your web design library.
