Rating: Summary: Recommended for IT managers. Lack detailed implementation ex Review: This book is excellent for IT managers and consultants. Itdoes a very good job in explaining the concept and application ofworkflow systems in clear, easy-to-understand words. However we found that it lacks detailed information or examples about the actual implementation of an workflow system, such as exactly how to translate thehigh-level model into a Entity-Relationship model, and eventually into a relational database design. We are in the process of designing a generic web-based workflow managementsystem prototype. We studied numerous workflow books, white papers, and the Workflow Management Coalition's Workflow Reference Model. We haveread about many high level design concepts, such as the event triggermodel, SAP's EPC (event driven process chain) model, etc.
