Summary: Oh no ......
Review: All hopes for a powerful introduction to DirectSound are soon dashed ..... instead a trite and feeble pamphlet is presented with alsolutely NO useful information.

The content presented is widely available from teenage "guru's" on the internet and to add further insult, the author only covers DirectX 8.

Since it's an e-book, I can even use this book to wipe.

Nevertheless, ...... lesson learned ..... [Delete]

Summary: A waste of ten bucks - 19 pages of junk
Review: An excellent e-book! A very practical quick-start for DirectSound programming. Does not leave anything for the imagination. Puts you on the tracks of VB Direct Sound programming. Bottom line: After reading this e-book, I was able to write my own DirectSound code in my VB projects.

Review: DO NOT BUY THIS SO-CALLED "BOOK"

Horrible horrible horrible. 19 pages long, including the cover, the table of contents, a bunch pages that have nothing to do with DirectSound at all, and a number of pages with VERY little on it. The vast majority of what is written explains very very basic stuff about assigning values to properties of form controls such as buttons and labels! Furthermore what is written is clearly written for VB.OLD, not vb.NET - for instance "on error goto" is used instead of the .NET error handling. All you learn about DirectSound is how to play a wave file - nothing else. What a shameless rip-off.

Summary: This book has no useful information
Review: The information in this book is too basic. Do not waste your money! You can find more useful information from free example code on the internet. I was looking on how to stream wav files using directsound. This book doesn't mention that you can even do that. Seriously, do not waste your time or money. I should have listened to the other reviews.

Summary: A waste of ten bucks - 19 pages of junk
Review: The pamphlet merely gives an example of how to play a .wav file - You can get thousands of times more info for free on MSDN. The 19 pages are completely worthless, even as an intro to DirectSound and VB.NET. Strictly for the earliest beginner - Do not waste your money.

The content is so weak, I seriously question the motives of the authors...
