Rating: Summary: Good Examples Review: Covers almost everything you wnat to know about servlet programmin=g with lots of examples.A must read for ecommerce programmers
Rating: Summary: Good reference book Review: Good reference book. I use it daily. And the format of "How - to do this?" is very helpful. Plus the author responds to email questions quite readily. And, at 820 pages, it covers most topics.

Rating: Summary: The only Servlets book I found worth buying Review: I began reading it right away and can't put it down... I love the examples and their corresponding explanations. Since my purchase I have at least 6 others in my department who have also purchased it and they all love it. I wish I had this book 2 years ago before I started programming in Java/Servlets. This is the best technical book I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: Full of useful code and not obsolete at all Review: only covers servlet 2.1 spec and jsp 1.0 spec. in addition, the code for the connection pool is missing a class(RefreshThread) and an interface(Refreshable). if anyone knows where this code resides please send e-mail to joe.gatta@lmco.com thanks.
Rating: Summary: Obsolete the moment it was published. Review: Readers beware: This book published a few months ago DOES NOT cover Servlets 2.2 or JSP 1.1. Only Servlets 2.1 and JSP 1.0It is sad that a book published in May 2000 was out of date the moment it was published! I don't know what the publisher was thinking. Probably something like "I know I'll make a fast buck anyway since the technology is so hot."
Rating: Summary: Full of useful code and not obsolete at all Review: This book is packed with useful code examples that are explained in a very clear manner. While a couple of other reviewers have complained that the content is obsolete, they forget that most production servlet engines are not up to the latest specs, either. Many of us programming in the real world can benefit from this book.
Rating: Summary: Very good learning material Review: This is and excellent book if you want to learn servlets/JSP and are fairly new to this topic. This is the book to use. I have used it for the past three years first to learn and then as reference. The great thing about this book is that the author uses examples in real world scenarios. It might not touch on all the advanced topics but it will let your write pretty advanced applications just using its techniques.
