Rating: Summary: IBM PC Assembler Language and Programming Review: Although this book is dated (the 1st addition anyway), it was the means by which I taught myself the basics of assembly language. I tried other books that were current at the time, and they all sucked by comparison. I prefer a structured text book approach to learning a subject, for even if I'm taking a class, I find it difficult to absorb the information spouted by some ding-a-ling at the front of the room. I haven't quite gotten the AAADD under control. And besides, most run of the mill computer books kind of bounce all over the place, and in my opinion don't effectively lay out a topic properly. Every other means I tried to learn MASM led to frustration, so therefore, if you're serious about learning what could APPEAR to be a daunting subject such as Intel based assembly language, I highly recommend this as probably the best starting point. You can always move on to the more complex issues later on. This one will lay a good foundation, again if you're serious and do all the examples and whatnot. And it has such a pretty cerulean blue cover besides.
