Summary: Improved New Web Site's Visual Impact
Review: This book contained a very clear introduction to information architecture as applied to a web environment. I'm an information designer currently working with a non-profit's web team. I'm helping them establish basic standards to maintain a consistency in language, tone and presentation on a new site. The team wants the best visual impact throughout the site. They will have a challenge on their hands going forward, since several volunteer authors living in different cities, having diverse perspectives and possessing a wide variety of writing styles will handle the maintenance of the site's content.

Creating some standards for this project seemed to be a daunting task for me, until I discovered Marilyn Brody's Creating Text on the Web: A Beginner's Guide. The process of starting a web site and developing content (let alone making it consistent) has been a bit overwhelming. But, Ms. Brody has produced a guide that helped me crystallize the issues and focus on key concepts.

Thank you Marilyn for a focused and easy-to-understand introduction to this seemingly vast subject!
