Rating: Summary: Just like the book says... Review: A new book by my favourite author was a definate must, even though it is a cook book. I wasn't dissapointed. The scene is set with a flashback to the part in whichever book the meal came from, making me go and start reading them all over again. The recipies are fantastic, easy to make, and taste great. Next time Kay Scarpetta whips up some of her fabulous pasta, I'll know just how good it is!Only negative thing... I can't get Key Lime Juice in Australia!
Rating: Summary: Excellence Review: Anything Patricia Cornwell writes is excellent. I have tried most of the recipes in this book and all are fantastic.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Wonderful! Review: As a Patricia Cornwell fan, I was dubious about buying a spin-off book and possibly destroying my image of Dr. Scarpetta. However, my curiosity (and stomach) finally overcame my reservations. This book is absolutely wonderful! I entertain often and our guests haved raved over every dish we've made from this book. I'm lucky enough to live in a state where fresh ingredients are easy to find, including fresh vegetables and the fresh mozzarella which is so prevalent throughout this book (it really makes a difference!) The tips on what to keep in the pantry are priceless, as are Patricia Cornwell's personal notes and snippets of her novels which pair with each recipe better than a fine wine, and gives the reader not only a recipe but the heart and soul and inspiration to warm your heart as well as your tummy.

Rating: Summary: A home library must have! Review: For anyone that enjoys the Kay Scarpetta character - this book is a must have. The recipes are easy to follow - and the illustrations are excellent. I bought one for myself (of course) and bought another as a gift.

Rating: Summary: Kay Scarpetta's Cookery Comes Alive! Review: For years I've lusted after the intriguing foods that Kay whips together after a tough day at the morgue! I've wondered just how she makes her pizza dough, what her lasagne really tastes like, and her secrets for making fresh pastas and her garlic soup. This book has satisfied all of my culinary desires about Kay, and the recipes sound as intriguing as the novels they originated from. I tried the Jack Daniels Chocolate Pecan Pie for Thanksgiving and it truly was to die for! I found the recipe hints and instructions to be very accurate and helpful, since I'm not an expert cook. Now I'm looking forward to trying Kay's Stew with Red Wine and Garlic this weekend, it sounds like the perfect dish for this winter season! When spring comes, I'm going to dip into the salads.
Rating: Summary: Scarpetta, the way she should be but isn't. Review: Given the fact that Cornwell, like her renowned creation, loves to cook, one has to wonder why it took two well known individuals to convince her to do this cookbook. And I can't help wondering how many of her fans have written to her making the same suggestion without their letters being read by anyone other than her staff. This cookbook is well done and should serve the fans of Kate Scarpetta well. Presuming Cornwell continues to dazzle us with competent Scarpetta novels without loosing her edge perhaps she will grace us with volume two of this cookbook after she has published volume 25 in the Scarpetta saga. It will be interesting to see what delicacies she provides us with in novels 12 through 25.
Rating: Summary: Wow Review: I am so glad that I ordered this book. Now personally, I am lucky to boil water without burning it, but I actually made the Jack Daniels Chocolate pecan pie and it was great!!!!! Mark yet another good book up to PC.
Rating: Summary: Incredible Cookbook! Review: I checked the book out from the library because I am a huge Dr. Scarpetta fan. I was hesitant to make the recipies due to the lengthy list of ingredients in most of them, but the 4 recipies I have tried were amazing! I just made one of them tonight and I am still drooling over it. The fresh pasta is the BEST recipie I have tried (and I have tried a lot), and it makes a HUGE difference! The stew was soooo good, granted, it took a while, but it was worth it!!! I love this book, I plan to buy it. Worth the investment for the cook who loves great recipies!
