Rating: Summary: Plain food in a plain binder Review: The main thing that bothered me the most about this book was that when there was a low fat variation of a recipe, it had the same name on the recipe page as the high fat version. There are two "Ham and Cheese Bakes", two "Macaroni and Cheese" dishes, and two "Broccoli Chicken" dishes -- which I found confusing. I thought pages had been duplicated at first, and if the book dropped, it was hard to find the right recipe again. Simply making one a "Low Fat Ham and Cheese bake" would have been helpful. That sort of redundancy seemed to be aat the heart of the cookbook, too. I found that there wasn't enough variety for me; most of the dishes were very plain, with very similar ingrediants, They tended to blend into one another -- Cheese and Ham rolls seemed a lot like Ham in Cream Sauce, as they both required that the cook layer ham with a cheese filling, roll them up and then cover them with sauce -- so it quickly became a dull routine to follow. There was no less work, because every dish had to be fully cooked before hand, rather than being able to assemble some of it the day it was going to be served. I was very disappointed.

Rating: Summary: BIG DISSAPPOINTMENT Review: They lacked imagination and variety! Definately not a family pleaser in this household.
Rating: Summary: Very well organized, good for the beginning monthly cook. Review: This book is very well orgainzed, a good beginner's manual if you are new to once-a-month-cooking, she explains what can be frozen and what can't, for how long, etc, very well. I liked most of the recipes, but I would like to see more chicken and more ground beef recipes, since those are the less expensive cuts of meat and those of us on budgets use a lot.
Rating: Summary: Month of Meals Review: What a great Idea! I can both, take advantage of great food sales and store them as entire meals. This allows me to save money and time. The 2002 Winter Games will be hosted by Salt Lake City, Utah and I plan to host many relatives and freinds. I am relying on Month of Meals to have everything ready - breakfast, lunch and dinner, so that I can enjoy the games myself.
