Summary: Simple and very useful
Review: I have turned to this cookbook many times for easy recipes and tips on some of the basics (how to roast a pepper?) Not all of the recipes were equally satisfying -- but I guess that's true of almost any cookbook, so the point is that some of these recipes really didn't really work for me. In particular, some of the tofu recipes disappointed me. But overall I like the book and would recommend it to people who need help with the basics of vegetarian cooking.

Summary: Quick, painless cooking!
Review: I highly recommend this cookbook for those who want simple, cheap, vegetarian meals for one or two people. I am not a student but mostly cook for myself or one other person, and this book has been quite useful to me. I particularly like the section of dips and spreads.

Summary: Great book!
Review: I totally fell in love with this book. For two weeks now, I have been trying recipes out of this book, and everything was delicious so far. I also did not have any troubles finding the ingredients used in the recipes yet. What I like best about this book is that it uses mostly stuff you can buy in a can or frozen, so it really cuts down on the preparation time. However, some recipes took a little longer to prepare than what it said in the book. Nevertheless, I still like this book and would recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Great for economy, health and speed
Review: I'm neither a student nor a vegetarian, but I love this cookbook. I've browsed through a lot of vegetarian cookbooks before I settled on this one. Althought I admit to having a weakness for cookbooks, this is one that I actually use regularly for everyday food. It has loads of recipes with a small number of ingredients that are quick to prepare. My copy is already spattered, written in and worn from use. The Moroccan stew is good enough for company and there are loads of other recipes I enjoy, as well as some I am still looking forward to trying.
This book also has some basic cooking and ingredient information which does make it an excellent book for students with little cooking experience. I plan to buy a copy for my son.

Summary: Just what the lone vegetarian needs...
Review: The recipes here feed one or two, when feeding many just won't do. The recipes contain no shred of meat, yet are a gustatory treat! They're a tribute to Ms. Raymond's art. To own this book is very smart.
