Summary: A cookbook full of delicious, easy-to-make, heathful recipes
Review: I use this cookbook more than any other one that I own because the recipes are lowfat, imaginative, easy-to-make, and always delicious. The recipes range from the familiar (e.g., tuna noodle casserole) to not so familiar ones (e.g., Sesame Soba Salad). This is healthy home cooking that you can cook every day.

Summary: The best cookbook I have!
Review: I was never much for low fat cookbooks because they weren't very appetizing.  Terry has managed to give us low fat recipes that are delicious, easy to make and aren't ridiculously fat free!  The book is indexed wonderfully so you can look recipes up by item in addition to name.  I found myself even reading the front of the book!  I make at least 50% of our dinners from this book now.  I highly recommend you try Spinach & Friends - it is so easy and delicious its scary!

Summary: Easy, Yummy Recipes that even I ( a cooking novice) can make
Review: I'm only 21 and needless to say have not been cooking for very long. This book originally intimidated me a little because it has some dishes that sound very fancy which I feared would mean they were complicated. However, after having the book for over a year now and trying out numerous recipes, I am very suprised and pleased. I haven't made a recipe from this book that me or my husband-to-be haven't liked. And it's been so easy, I haven't messed up a recipe yet! ANd to top it off, we don't even feel like we're eating low-fat and healthy. If you buy this book you must try th guacamole and the tomato and basil crostini.

Summary: A hello from the author and a summary of reviews.
Review: I'm thrilled that you are taking the time to learn more about my book. I spent over 3 years writing it and my hope is that people will bring it into their homes and use it.

My goal is to give my readers the recipes, the knowledge, the encouragement, to get in the kitchen and cook healthy meals for themselves and their families. Although the title says "lowfat" it is much more than that. The recipes include lots of vegetables, foods high in fiber, and the protein is lean. I use olive oil, nuts, even cheese. These ingredients are used for flavor and in moderate amounts are nutritionally sound choices. This is not a diet book. It is a cookbook to use as a daily part of one's life.

I've been getting some great reviews, which confirm that I accomplished my goals. The Nov/Dec issue of Health Magazine listed 1,000 Lowfat Recipes in their article on the 10 best healthy cookbooks of 1998. The New Orleans Times-Picayune says it should "keep you in new ideas for at least a couple of years." The Globe Times says it is "crammed with healthful ideas and extremely versatile reicpes" and Nation's Restaurant News calls it "an important book".

I hope you'll send for a copy. I welcome email at goodfood@trilobyte.com

Summary: disgusting and amazingly fatty foods. A NO NO NO book!!
Review: If you want a book full of non-fat, tastey recipes DO NOT buy this book. I had tried many things to lose weight and become thin again so I could surf, this book made it worse! I hated the food I was eating and turned to more fatty foods such as pizza or fries, all of you that have dieted know what I'm talking about. Don't base your decision on my review, read good and bad before you say No to this book!!

Summary: A great and useful cookbook
Review: One of the best cookbooks I own and I own hundreds. I use it all of the time. The pasta e fagioli soup, and mashed potatoes with balsamic onions and the mushroom lasagna are all great receipes, just to name a few. I bought this book about 2 years ago and used it so much, I ordered one for my sister in law. She loves it too. A real keeper!

Summary: bad recipes
Review: the recipes in this book are horrendous, i'd advise against such a purchase. The recipes for chicken also make my taste buds sing off-key. A hint of parsley does not always make the difference in the way something tastes, and I'm glad I only borrowed this book from a friend!

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: This book is incredible. The recipes are very clear, easy to make and absolutely delicious. I know the low-fat title may be off-putting, but believe me - you don't need another recipe book. It has everything you need to give a very good basic knowledge of simple, fast and tasty cooking. I am not on a diet, but have managed to lose 4lbs in four days, by simply cooking some of the recipes. AND because it uses very basic ingredients it is a lot cheaper than the Atkins and South Beach Diet!

Summary: Best healthy cookbook I own!
Review: This book is wonderful. I've been struggling with my weight in the last years, and I found this book to be very helpfull. Not only it has tasty and easy recipes, it also lets you know the approximate caloric value of your meals and gives you from wonderful entrees to desserts and soups, all in one healthy book. I highly recommend it for people that are trying to live a healthy life and cook in an easy way.
