Rating: Summary: One of the better guides Review: Although this is considered by many to be the bible of bartending, I found that it is incomplete. There are many newer drinks that are not mentioned. Unfortionately, many of the guides that have a more complete drink list do not have as much peripheral information. This book is really good at helping a person set up their own home bar. It also has little fun facts about alcohol and toasts from around the world.
Rating: Summary: Excellent bar guide for basics and more. Review: Best bar guide I've read; concise, excellent variety. What I especially like is that the recipes are from scratch; no powder or liquid mixes. It does list liquor ingredients by Mr. Boston brands but one can easily substitute one's favorite liquors. Also gives good basics on barware, glasses, measurements and more.
Rating: Summary: A Disappointment Review: Concidered by many to be the bible of bartending, Mr. Boston has been a bestseller since 1935. Filled with information covering everything from how setup a homebar, flaming a drink, to party planning Mr. Boston is a must have for anyone interested in mixology. With over 1200 recipes Mr. Boston will give you plenty of recipes to choose from and experiment with.

Rating: Summary: Absolutely Fantastic teaching tool!!! The best for all Review: I have used Mr. Boston's official bartenders guide for years. I have been teaching its contents to bartenders that are now working all over the world. Mr. Boston, Thank you for making my job easier.
Rating: Summary: Close, but no hot toddy Review: I've owned this book for years. It has most of the drinks about which I've ever been curious. But this morning it failed me -- I looked up "toddy" and "hot toddy," and found nothing. I'd think this would be such a common drink that it'd be in every book. So Mr. Boston's is a good reference, but not the compleat one.

Rating: Summary: This is my bartending bible. Review: It keeps getting better every time. newr recipes always show in the new editions. keep up the good work. Could use a way for us, the consumers, to help update the book.
Rating: Summary: This is an amusing bartending guide--with some reservations Review: Last Christmas, in a Dean Martin/"Gift of the Magi" moment, my husband and I discovered we had both bought martini glasses for each other. This year, this book was part of my Christmas loot from him. We've been using it quite a bit, and it's well-organized and complete, if a little heavy on drinks with suggestive names and too many sweet ingredients. I don't know any grown-ups who drink shooters and jello shots. Oddly, some drinks containing tart citrus juices can be a little sour, especially in cases where the recipe calls for the juice of half a lemon instead of a measured amount. Still, this is the book that taught us to make Mariposas and Mary Pickfords. You have to love a drink called a Mary Pickford, and it's just so pretty in the glass!
