Rating: Summary: Simple, but useful Review: Compared to many crock-pot cookbooks on the market, this one focuses on simple, somewhat old-fashioned dishes -- the kind I remember seeing en mass at potluck suppers as a child.
The directions are easy to follow, and the introduction section has some really helpful hints about crock-pot cooking in general.
This cookbook is also handwritten rather than typed, which may be a turn-off for some readers, but actually made the book feel more like reading Mom's recipes to me!
Rating: Summary: Like a trusted friend sharing recipies Review: Here is the strength of this book: these are REAL recipies for real food that real people actually eat. There's no weird ingredients, no time-consuming techniques, no long winded directions. Simple, to the point, good, old-fashioned home cooking, except the pot does all the home-cooking. It's great. I love how it's hand-written and full of humor - it really feels like my friend gave me a few of her favorite recipies.

Rating: Summary: Slow Cooking 101....and you'll get an 'A' for your results! Review: I had originally panned this book in an earlier review because it had a 'dump it in and turn it on' feel. But I decided to give it another try, mostly because: 1. The other reviews were so positive and 2. Most people use a slow cooker for convenience. Well all I can say now is 'mea culpa'. Crock-It offers some tasty meals for people who don't have time to spend hours in the kitchen. A nice feature is that most of the ingredients are probably in your cupboard or refrigerator. This is a great gift for someone new to the kitchen or a college student. And of course, you can always toss in spices and herbs that appeal to your taste. If you are giving a slow cooker as a gift, Crock-It would be the perfect companion.

Rating: Summary: Recipes are easy, no pre cooking, taste wonderful Review: I have found the recipes to be very easy. They use common ingredients and best of all most of the recipes involve no pre-cooking of any of the items. I would recommend this book to anyone who is on a tight time schedule for dinners.
Rating: Summary: A true cookbook for dummies Review: I have had this book for a couple years now, and have bought it at least 3-4 times as a gift. The recipes are straight-forward, easy and yummy! My favorites include Roaster Bag Chicken, Great Chicken (sweet, soy sauce/tomato garlic taste), and Garlic Chicken (also known as "It couldn't be easier Chicken"). The recipes also have suggestions for ingredient subsitutions/additions. A must have for any real crock-pot cookbook library!

Rating: Summary: No more yucky or weird crock-pot recipes Review: I love the idea of having my dinner all ready and waiting when I get home from work. Crockpots should be great, but too many of the recipes in cookbooks are just not good. Crock-It is distinguished by good tasting recipes using every day ingredients your family will eat.
Rating: Summary: Crock-it Review: I needed a crock pot cook book that had down to earth recipes and this one has it. I'll be changing measurements for my niece who has a 1.5 qt crock pot with her at college. She'll be able to make these recipes without being overwhelmed by finding the ingriendents. New crock pot owners well love I know I do.
