Summary: Thank Goodness I Found It! - Thanks Amazon!
Review: I have her original (hardback) book under the same title which I have used for 15 years. I even managed to track down the author and spoke with her a few years ago telling her how my "Soup" book was one of my most valued and used cookbooks. A friend wanted a soup book for Christmas, and I was panic stricken to find that this book was no longer in print. I was so relieved when I found this reissue. Soups from all over the world, broken down in clever groups, all warm the heart and tummy! I've never, never been disappointed in any recipe from my original book.

Summary: Soup Primer
Review: I have quite a few soup books, but this is the only one that receives regular use, and which I know I can count on for a delicious recipe each and every time. The book is simple, not containing many pictures or illustrations, but has hundreds of recipes in it from around the world. This is one of the only soup books I've seen which had multiple (no less than 5) different recipes and styles for tomato soup, it's selection is huge. It is obvious from the dialogue that the author is a soup lover and uses these recipes daily in her home, just like it should be. She details what makes soups not just good, but fantastic, like how to pick your ingredients for maximum flavor. There is a short section before each category of soups where she gives an overview of that soup, some insider tips on preparation, as well as suggestions on building a meal around them. Truly a great cook book, and a must for any soup lover.
