Review: Easy Basics For Good Cooking is a brilliantly constructed cookbook. On many occasions my family disagrees on what to have for dinner. Easy Basics has a dish for even the pickiest eater's enjoyment. The diverse array of recipes in this book are not only simple to prepare but exciting to try. From excellent Sweet and Sour Pork to mouth watering Chicken Kiev to sinful Eclairs it seems that there is a favorite recipe from every culture. The recipes are so simple cooking dinner becomes an event the whole family can participate in. The step-by-step insrtuctions are practical and written in simple terms - no fancy, confusing culinary language here. This cookbook is a must-have for a gourmet chef or for the average family. Review: I purchased this basic cook book when I first got married to my chef husband.(He uses it often too!) Everything a new cook or experienced chef needs to master the basic cooking of meats,veg,and baking.
These are the recipies you will use EVERY DAY! Need a new copy mine is so well used! You wili refer to it all the time.

Review: Sunset has dropped the ball on this one. It is the very best cook book that I have used. I was an experiences cook with banquet and wedding experience wien I first found it and I found this book one of the easiest to read and use. Mine is covered with marks and is falling out of its spiral binding but I wouldnt give it up for a minute. Sunset wake up and smell the coffee this is a winner.
Reprint the darn thing before mine is totally gone.

Summary: The Best is in the Basics
Review: This book is a constant source of reference. My copy is so dog-eared I recently purchased a new one. Why Sunset hasn't reprinted it is beyond me. I have yet to find a bad recipe in it. The other night my kids wanted oatmeal cookies. My first thought was my Sunset book. They came out perfect. These recipes are all benchmarks for what the dish should taste like. This book is the basis for cooking. It is the foundation for a great many recipes.
