Review: As an avid cook, I highly recommend this book, full of origical recipes based on Romania's history and traditions. There is a huge selection of recipes to choose from: meat, fish, soups. And the best things are in the desserts chapters. I especially liked the walnut budinca. And the ingredients are easy to find anywhere and the recipes easy to follow. The authors little stories are also very interesting.

Review: Romania is usually included in general cookbooks about the Baltic nations, so it's refreshing to see it earn its own acclaim in The Art Of Romanian Cooking, a specialty cookbook which covers everything from appetizers such as Fried Cheese Papanasi to Tongue with Olives. The historical commentary accompanying many of the dishes is also fascinating and inviting.
