Review: I like to dabble in the kitchen. But this book inspired me to jump head first into some serious cooking! There are many different and fun recipes in Nelson's book. Plus it's a joy to read because of Nelson's style and sense of humor. This book will inspire you to try some different recipes. It'll also inspire you to invite some friends over and have plenty of stimulating conversation along with some great food!!!

The things you need know about this book are that Nelson's writing style is engaging; it draws the reader in from page 1. The book flows from the 'Whys' to the 'Hows' of dinner parties effortlessly and entertainingly. And finally, Nelson's recipes and party ideas are simple, elegant, and easy-to-do.

This book is entertaining and a great way to demystify the dinner party.

Review: What a fantastic, flavorful pseudo-throwback to Emily Post (with a healthy dose of contemporary gay humor and celebrity dish)! Aspen includes many terrific etiquette tips...long lost among most of my peers. And the recipes?! I'm still drooling!! The book should really come with a warning label: "CAUTION: Do not read if pregnant and confined to a space without access to food, like the Metro North train, for example. May cause painful grinning and even occasional outbursts of cackling. Side effects include excessive salivation, unconscious chewing, and almost psychedelic fantasizing about future social gatherings and reminiscences of parties past."
