Rating: Summary: Buyer Beware Review: i am shocked to find such a farce of a cookbook. the size alone would make it hard to follow the recipe. of course the fact that i ordered one for my daughter also and had to present her with a half-aced[one way to put it] book, is beyond belief. you people need to make amends!!!! g. holt
Rating: Summary: Buyer Beware Review: I thought I was getting a great deal on the Classic Moosewood Cookbook. I sent this as a gift, and my recipient called and said it was about a 2 inch square cookbook! I looked further at the Amazon website to see what I had missed when ordering. Under product detail the dimensions of the book are listed, but I have never looked for the measurements of a book when ordering. The information should be clearly listed near the title of the book, not under another section of the site. And the shipping for a two inch book cost twice what the item did!
Rating: Summary: CAREFUL - it's a booklet - a baby Review: I thought this was a full size book. It's not. It's a tiny (2"x2") gift version. Great if you want to carry it around in your backpack, purse, or pocket, but very tiny print.
Rating: Summary: A great stocking stuffer! Review: It's itty-bitty, it's cute, and it contains a small selection of Moosewood's best recipes. For those grumpy people who were expecting a full-size cookbook, and have given it a low rating on that account, you're being unfair. If you were misled, it's because you failed to read the full product description. It would be nice if the blurb had been explicit, but the dimensions are right where they always are. The $5 price tag is plenty of warning that you should find out why it's so cheap.
Rating: Summary: A cute toy Review: It's not the real Moosewood cookbook. It's a stocking-stuffer, with about 25 recipes from the original. The recipes are all good ones, though. They are all easily prepared, and easily adapted if you don't have quite the right ingredients. I know at least one child who might get some enjoyment out of it, partly because of of its unusual size. This is not for the serious cook or the lifelong Moosewood fan. Taken on it's own merits, though, it could provide a bit of fun.
Rating: Summary: I learned to cook from Moosewood Review: The Moosewood cookbook is easy enough for a very beginning cook, but the recipes hold up even for experienced, non-vegetarian cooks. I turn to Moosewood first when I want an interesting soup, or if I have some vegetables which need to be used up. The recipes are very forgiving and, as a bonus, written with a sense of humor ("Locate the flavor packet that comes with the noodles. Throw it away in the garbage."). I recommend Moosewood for any cook.
Rating: Summary: Good recipes, teeny book, overpriced Review: This is a teeny book that's good for a stocking stuffer, as one reviewer said - but I wouldn't pay for it. The few recipes are good ones, but it's too expensive, even for a novelty. Get one of the regular Moosewood cookbooks for a little more money and many, many more recipes.
Rating: Summary: WARNING THIS IS A CON!!!! Review: unless you actually want a 2 inch cookbook
