Summary: Have a kid in your life? Run, don't walk, and buy this book!
Review: I think I own every cooking book written for children. Honest. I have a stack of them. I am a Culinary Institue of America graduate. Teaching my children how to cook was top priority. There was just one problem with all the books written so far...they were written for children. In a typical children's cookbook there are great pictures and not much else that is of any help to anyone with a budding child chef, or who just wants to teach kids how to cook. If you are a mom, nanny, single parent, grandmother, babysitter, etc., what you need is "Cooking With Kids for Dummies". At last there is a book written for adults who really want to delve into cooking with children, with recipes for the new millenium. All the bases are covered, from safety to recipes to ingredients to what ever you can think of. This book should be sent to every person with a child in their life!

Summary: Very dense book with lots of information.
Review: The book has tons of good information with terrific details. It supplies more information than any other cooking-for-kids books that I've ever seen--and I've seen plenty of them. I like the aspects of safety in the kitchen, shopping tips, nutrition, and dinning together--very important in todays world. These are things I work on with my 13 year old daughter as she is just beginning to learn to cook. She no longer takes meals for granted. She is also learning about health and nutrition, how to shop, and organization while preparing a meal, and the clean up process, this book helps a lot, as it isn't nearly as boring as "mom". The gentle humor and illustrations help, too. She actually took a long look at it which is a very positive sign. Additionally, my daughter is very fussy with her meals and school lunch is a nightmare. The book gives plenty of tips and ideas which helped me jump a huge hurdle this school year. Thanks for writing the book, Kate. mag (mom) & Holly (daughter)

Summary: The world's greatest cookbook for kids and adults alike!
Review: This cookbook is great for anyone with or without children. It is not your typical kid's cookbook. This is a great cookbook for anyone just learning to cook or for someone who had been cooking for years and is looking for easy recipes. I can't think of a single thing that Kate could have done to improve this book. I'm going to lobby for all the school libraries in our area to purchase this book. I believe "kids" of all ages will benefit from this book.
