Rating: Summary: Good introduction to Indian cooking. Review: I got this book a year ago and had limited experience cooking Indian food. (Okay, none.) The recipies are quite easy to follow and work out well. There isn't a terrific variety, but by the time you notice that you're probably ready to move on to a more advanced book. One tip: prepare all your ingredients ahead of time, especially spices.
Rating: Summary: How I learned to cook Review: My mother for the life of me couldn't teach me how to cook Indian food. She couldn't give me exact amounts. This cookbook is awesome! A lot of the recipes are not the same old thing and she's evidently tested them out. I really recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Yum Review: This book contains the best recipe for Mulligatawny Soup, plus the Yogurt Rice has become one of my favorite foods. All the pages are nicely illustrated by Robert Budwig. And it covers the basics: Soups, Appetizers and Snacks, Vegetables and Pulses, Fish and Shellfish, Poultry, Meat, Eggs and Cheese, Rice, Bread, Pickles, Chutneys and Raitas, Desserts and it comes with an index (some books don't and it can be annoying)
