Rating: Summary: A useful book for beginners Review: After purchasing my bread machine I wanted to branch out beyond basic white. This great little cookbook allowed me to explore the other features on such as the dough cycle. The recipes are very easy to follow and offer helpful reminders and suggestions. All of the recipes that I have tried have turned out nicely. The foccacio was wonderful! I agree that photographs would be helpful, but this is definately a worthwhile investment!
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I learned about this book from a brief review in an RV magazine. After trying the recipe printed in that review, I ordered the book and have been absolutely pleased with the results of five recipes that I have tried, so far. I tend to favor mixed grain breads, for the better nutritional values. The recipe called Wheat Flake Potato bread is incredible - a high rising, light loaf that is sooo tasty, and great in nutrition and fiber. I have been baking bread for many years, and find this book to be especially informative and worthwhile. I like it enough to now be ordering Mr. Lacalamita's first bread book. Also, I have recommended this book to several of my breadbaking friends, who have also been pleased with it. A very good investment at a very reasonable price.
Rating: Summary: I'm so disappointed Review: Made the sourdough recipe twice (I thought perhaps I had made a mistake the first time). Both times it came rising out of the machine, stuck to the lid, down the sides, etc. I know my machine takes a maximum 1.5 pound loaf - and that's the recipe I used. 1.5 pound loaves bake OK with the cookbook that came with the machine. Finally got the recipe to work using 1/2 of the 2 pound recipe. Now I'm wondering if I have to recalculate all the recipes. I'm afraid to try any others.
Rating: Summary: Basic Recipie Did Not Work Review: The cookbook gave many variations to the basic recipies and looked interesting. The "Basic European White Bread" was the first recipie I tried. The first time I didn't notice that there was not enough water shown for this recipie. Since my breadmachine can't be reset I got to throw out the batch (one hard lump and a bunch of liquid). I tried the recipie again and I did not make a mistake with the ingredients but the recipie is totally off. It needs about 2 cups instead of 1 cup, as shown.Glad I got the book at the library and didn't waste my money!

Rating: Summary: Not really pleased Review: The white bread recipes were good but, the cinnamon raisin bread laked flavor, it needed more cinnamon and the NY Deli Rye bread recipe has too much liquid.
Rating: Summary: I'm so disappointed Review: These recipes can't be beat! Great variety. Add 1/2 to 1 tsp. of lemon juice if you like higher loaves. Exact measurements are the key, especially the extra large eggs. I'd buy it again. Enjoy.

Rating: Summary: A good book for beginners Review: This is my first bread machine book. I have tried a few recipes. The brioche was not great but was acceptable. I have made the cinnamon raisin bread and homestyle white which are great.
