Review: This book was a life-saver for a woman who married a man used to country cooking! The author grew up about half a mile from where we live and his memories of how life used to be around here are fascinating. The book is full of humor and, of course, plenty of wonderful country recipes (I didn't even know there was such a thing as wilted lettuce until I met my husband's family!) Great read for historical value even if the recipes aren't what you are looking for.
