Review: Despite the scholarly sounding title this book is nothing more than a brief collection of short entries--anecdotes, recipes, snippets of history--mingled with misinformation.

Among other errors, the author confuses the tea tree (genus Melaleuca), a native tree of Australia, with the tea plant (Camellia sinensis)!
