Rating: Summary: Short on time AND flavor Review: I couldn't believe that the other reviews for this book were so positive. Minutemeals is a good book for those who are only looking to top frozen meals and canned soup, not for people who truly enjoy cooking. I tried the manicotti and the chicken chasseur. They were unpleasant and REALLY tasted like they took 20 minutes to make. I pretty much gave up on the book after that. Why not spend a little more time and cook something with some real depth and flavor? This is also a very bad choice for anyone on a budget. 20 minutes comes at a cost: the recipes call for all sorts of pre-made items ("dessert included" often translates into "buy a pre-made cake") Not exactly a celebration of good, fresh food. And I'm a college student with a budding interest in cooking, no Julia Childs. Invest in quality of life, not this book. I wish I had.

Rating: Summary: great recipes Review: I found the meals that I tried were of company quality. The crispy oven-fried flounder was very tasty and also good for you. With the shopping list supplied and the suggestions throughout the cookbook you can really do 20 minute meals that are truly delicious. The ziti with fresh herbs, smoked mozzarella and prosciutto was really easy and delicious too. I highly recommend this cookbook for anyone who enjoys cooking and finds time at a premium.
Rating: Summary: Meal Time Helper Review: I got this book as a gift and I love it. It has been so helpfulto me for meal time planning. I am so busy and I love the way every meal is spelled out especially with the ingredient list. I am about to buy two more as gifts. It makes a great gift for anyone who uses a kitchen. My children love the chicken fingers with dipping sauces on page 78 of the cookbook. I highly recommend this book. It is a great addition to anyones kitchen.
Rating: Summary: Great format Review: I really like this cookbook, because of the format with the shopping list and how to prepare it in the most time concise manner. The recipes don't have pictures which I would of liked. Some of the recipes are a little bland but you could spice them up a little on your own. But for a 20 minute meal this book goes a long way.
Rating: Summary: Minutemeals is a Godsend Review: I recently served my family the chicken fingers with dipping sauces by Chef Carolyn. Everyone enjoyed them and imagine their surprise when they found out the secret ingredient. Naturally, I didn't tell them about the Cap'n Crunch until after the verdict of DELICIOUS was in! Not only were they delicious but they truly only took 20 minutes to make from start to finish. What more could a busy mom ask for? Can't wait to try more recipes! Thank you Minutemeals!
Rating: Summary: The easiest and best-tasting cookbook I have EVER used! Review: Minutemeals is an impressive and highly recommended compendium of 150 innovate, delicious, easy to prepare, complete menus that even the most novice and inexperienced kitchen cook can make in twenty minutes or less. Every recipe has been tested and proven by culinary professionals. Featuring more than 400 recipes, Minutemeals menus are additionally enhanced with handy, "at-a-glance" shopping lists for efficient and effective visits to a favorite grocery store. From Sesame Chicken Fingers on Soba Noodles (including a cucumber salad with pickled ginger, and green tea ice cream) to Ravioli Pie (including a green salad with cucumber and red pepper, semolina brad, and long-stemmed strawberries and meringues), these are menus and recipes that will become instant family favorites, appreciated by the cook for their ease of preparation, and the family members for their delicious tastes and appetite pleasing variety!
Rating: Summary: What a GREAT cookbook!! Review: What a great cookbook! The recipes are concise and very easy to follow. The main recipe is accompanied by a whole meal menu, including dessert. For each recipe, it lists what you need from the grocery store, along with what you will need from your pantry. One thing I really like about the recipes is that you don't need 1/4 tsp. of this seasoning and 1/4 tsp. of another - I love it and recommend it to all my friends who are avid cookers or first time "chefs."
