Review: This book is a well written, pleasant and informative read for beginners to home brewing. It appears better suited than many others I've seen for those starting out as it keeps the recipes simple and recognises the limitations of available ingredients in this country. The main drawback with this is approach that most will progress quickly from the book and it does not provide any stepping stone from Kits to Full Mash. A bit of a flaw is the lack of attention (and emphasis on) to yeast strains(and a lesser degree info about hops and hopping) which are now quite readily available and make such a dramatic difference in quality and character. Nevertheless the book is great as an introduction and is unlikely to scare of potential newcomers to the art with overwelming technical details - the perfect gift to get someone else hooked?

Review: This book is okay for homebrewers but it doesn't cover the basis. Save your money and buy Charlie Papazian's Joy of Homebrewing - it's cheaper, great for beginners and advanced brewers and has tons more information.
