Review: This book is chock full of stories and memories. Like the kind that are in women's magazines at christmas time. The recipes are a little boring and FULL of fat. Gooseberry might not believe it, but you CAN cook comfort foods without using canned soups etc. Most of the recipes included are for things like Pot Roast and Chicken & Noodles. This book is a borderline ripoff. Someone new to cooking and unconcerned about fat might enjoy it.

Review: This book would be a fun pre Christmas gift. It has a FEW very cute looking, and easy, Christmas crafts and lots of stories. Also appetizers, goodies and potluck type recipes. It is delightfully illustrated. I would've given it more stars but most of the recipes are yummy but not exceptional. Chicken & Dumplings, Sour cream pot roast, MeatLoaf, Creamy Chicken & Noodles, Dill Dip, Snow Ball Cookies etc. For the most part, the recipes can be found in any basic cookbook. A good book for a beginner.
