Summary: Culinary Delights of Ireland; Potatos ? Think again !!
Review: The first thing that strikes you when thumbing through this wonderful ode to Ireland is the photographs. I can't decide if I was struck more by the elegant, artful culinary delights or the landscapes and beautiful ancestral homes. J.P. Donleavy (forward) and Mike Bunn are insiders in this land of beauty and they share their stories and insights with the reader the way they would if hunkered down in the corner of a Donegal pub over a few pints of Guinness. From Monaghan to Offlay, from Galway Bay to Lough Derg, we are taken on a gastronomical tour that plants the seed for future vacations that we may never actually take, but that we can travel in our minds whenever we want. Mr Bunn covers some of the more well known sights of Ireland, but more interesting are the off the beaten path travels that the author takes us on. I had a wonderful time in Ireland and look forward to trying my hand at some of the recepies. Just one question; now, how am I going to get my hands on some Galway Bay oysters ?
