Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Indian Vegetarian Cooking: a step by step guide
Review: A handy little book to keep in your kitchen. The author briefly covers the origins of vegetarianism in India; goes over some rules for healthy eating; describes the nutrient contribution of various foods; and has a nice section describing the spices used in Indian cooking. She gives recommendations for staples to keep on hand, and includes a short secion on regional variations. A pretty book; lots of color pictures. Good value for the money. I especially recommend it to those who are just getting interested in Indian cooking, but don't want to invest a lot of money. The only fault I find with the book is that almost all the recipes are fried.
