Summary: Definitely the first book you should buy on ice carving.
Review: This book covers all the basics of modern ice sculpture and is leagues ahead of the more popular American beginning books. While it is still slightly behind on modern tool usage, it does cover basic sculpture theory that is not in other books. This book does not cover "snow blown" logo technique which is a major omission in my opinion. Also, the carvings are created for Japanese ice blocks that are a different size than the standard block here in the states. But, it is a beautiful book that offers much.
