Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Simple, Southern & Sweet
Review: I grew up in the South, where desserts were often more bountiful at family gatherings than were vegetables (of course, casseroles ruled). This neat little book has almost everything I remember from all the family reunions and church homecomings and even funerals of my greener days.

The book hits all the important marks with Chess Pie, Blackberry Cobbler (wow!), Coconut cake and pound cake. The pound cake is referred to as Miss Daisy's Pound Cake & there's a note that this came from Daisy's Grandmother - it's a great recipe and it turned out great for me on my first try.

The book has lots of ideas about gifts and entertaining - it has an authentic southern feel throughout. It's user friendly, especially for those of us who watched mom or mamaw cook more than we helped.

My copy is already dusted with flour.
