This reviewer wishes to add a footnote regarding cancer and sugar
The number ONE _cause_ of the various forms of cancer (throughout
the so-called civilized world, where foods have been adulterated)
is the undeclared ingredient within sugar: bone ash. In the sugar
are particles from charred beef bones (which are used to render a
WHITEness). Sugar rots teeth; it does not cause cancer. The BONES
that remain (undisclosed) IN the sugar are the principal cause of
cancer; tobacco and pollution come a distant second (not that one
should smoke: visit wwwdotAllenCarrsEasyWaydotcom for free info).
I tell you this whilst reviewing a vegan book so as to prevent an
unnecessary encounter with potential cancer(s) that result from a
sugar ingredient: the bones. The avatar who in 1982 declared this
(Sathya Sai Baba, born 1926) suggests 'jaggery' as an alternative
FYI, two follow-up books to consider: ISBN 0345321200 1557883599.
The former is very affordable (and scientific). The latter serves
to take you from MUNDANE vegan food prep (which is adequate for a
truly hungry person) to vegan recipes that are healthy and tasty.
Use the 'Look inside this book' link to study 4 pages of recipes.
Though the reviewed 0932040500 book calls for less oil in recipes
that the 1557883599 one, to me it seems OK or safe to make dishes
using the 1557883599 recipes, since the TYPE of oil specified has
0 negative health impact, unless you wish to cut-cut-cut calories
