Summary: Charming Book - wish there were photographs!
Review: This is a really charming cake book with a surprisingly extensive number of recipes considering the small size and width of the book. Physically, the book is small and doesn't look like a cookbook to take too seriously. However, the recipes really are well written, as well as produce great results. My favorite is the banana cake.

The recipes tend toward being homey, classic tastes rather than anything fancy or sophisticated. I really appreciate that all the recipes are all given good descriptions in the beginning so you can make good decisions - for instance, which one of the many chocolate cakes to make for your next occasion.

My only complaint is that there are no photographs - maybe next time!
