Rating: Summary: All skill levels welcome! Review: My brother, who does NOT cook, had this book in his kitchen and I picked it up to flip through it. Two days later and I'm still reading it -- and I do mean reading it! I have now recommended this cookbook to 4 others, bought 2 copies (one for me and one to give away) and have yet to make one recipe! It gives wonderful, useful advise for those who are just beginning and those of us who, perhaps, have forgotten a few things. It is easy to read, follow and understand, with lots of pictures and step-by-step easy to follow directions - a wonderful companion for anyone in the kitchen.Best of all, and surprisingly, many of the recipes can be adapted for all types of diets - from low-fat to Atkins. This cookbook lists calories, protien, carbs, fat, cholesterol and sodium for every recipe. It also gives suggestions for complementary dishes to create a whole meal. A wonderful cookbook for anyone that needs to throw a good, wholesome, family friendly meal together quickly - or a beginner who wants to start branching out but may be a little nervous. This a one-stop shop for just about anyone!
Rating: Summary: Right on both counts Review: These recipes do live up to the name of the book. We have quite a number of "regular" recipes we got from within these pages. My kids especially like going to this book, too, because there are so many photographs, making it easier for them to hunt for something new they'd be willing to try.
Rating: Summary: Phenomenal Review: This book is wonderful to use whether you are a novice or an expert. The recipes are fab and the pictures help the amateur. My personal favorite part of the book is the "keep on hand" and "substitues" sections. I am buying this now as a birthday present!
