Summary: there are better low carb cookbooks
Review: Found the recipes nasty, its a very small book, and the cutesy commentary is annoying. Try the low carb cookbooks by Donna Rodnitzky or Fran McCullough instead.

Summary: I'm returning it.
Review: I've been eating low-carb for several years and am always looking for new ideas for low-carb foods. This book had very few that I could use. The author's tone is chatty and jokey, which is occasionally appealing and frequently annoying. The book also needs a good edit. However, those things don't matter if the recipes are good. Here, they're not. Nearly all of the desserts are based on Cool Whip, so if you don't like Cool Whip, that section is just about useless. In other recipes, the author prefers spicy food, which is OK with me in general, but if it's got chiles in it, it ain't quiche and it ain't Hungarian goulash! But here's the main reason why I'm returning this book: page 13's "Crazy Deal Pickle," which is a dill pickle spear smeared with peanut butter. That's it. That's the whole recipe. A good idea? Maybe, but not for [my money].

Summary: Very encouraging!!
Review: This book begins with the statement, "This is a book that has some extremely easy and quick recipes that I would even classify simply as "ideas." That statement and the relaxed humor put me totally at ease. Donna made things sound like they weren't a big deal if you didn't do it exactly like the recipe said because it would still be just as good! There are some recipes that are a little more involved than others, but not difficult at all! Those you are cooking for might think you had to work hard, but I found that you don't have to be chef or plan to cook only on special occasions. These ideas are pratical for everday! It's also nice that Donna has given her e-mail for any questions. The fact that a registered dietition did all the carb counts is great too. Can't wait to get the third book!

Summary: Great and Great For You!
Review: This book is filled with recipes that are easy to prepare. You will get all your food cravings fulfilled! The ingredients are real and simple. Donna offers creative alternatives, to suit your own tastes. You can have your Filet Mignon, wrapped in bacon, and Donna's Chocolate Mousse too! What could be better than that?

Sooner or later, we crave foods, like cheese, a burger, or pizza. This book is a recipe guide to healthy eating and while enjoying the foods you love! You can still have a little carbs. This is a lifestyle that you can easily live with, feel good about, and still enjoy eating. If you like to cook, it's even more fun.

To top this, it will improve your overall health. My Internist, personally suggested I switch to a low-carb diet. It worked for her(she lost weight!), as a professional, but she still didn't believe it until some of her friends tried a low-carb diet. The results were amazing. More energy was what what she noticed first. She didn't feel hungry.

Donna took all the guess work out of it! That is why this book is so neat! Donna gives you idea's and recipes! This is a fantastic book!

Summary: Very disappointing!
Review: This book is so great. It offered many different ideas to begin my low carb diet. I'm not a creative person in the kitchen, so it's hard for me to come up with creative eating choices. This book gave me easy & quick ideas to ideas that had a little more to them, but still easy enough to make. Everything I've tried so far has been great. I LOVE the low-carb chocolate mousse with strawberries. It's enough to get you over your sweet craving.

Summary: Sugar cravings are gone
Review: This books helped me loose 4 inches off my waist. My LDL/HDL ratio is now excellent. My blood pressure dropped and my energy level increased. I have no more sugar cravings and best of all this book had desert ideas that tasted great. I don't feel like I am deprevation eating the old standard meat and cheese. Her recipes are great
