Summary: We're Both Glad We've Got a Copy!!
Review: Both Gloria and I are glad to have copies of Mary's "Frugal Feasts!" As year round residents of Mexico's Pacific Coast, we are happy to have access to a cookbook which not only is easy and economical but which uses ingredients readily available to us in Mexico. The recipies are fun to make, the instructions are clear & easy, and the results are (ususally) delicious! If they aren't delicious, it's most often my mistake!!

Summary: A Little Gem
Review: Frugal Feasts is a little gem of a book. The recipes are full of variety and I have learned much about other cultures from it. The ingredients are usually to be found in my cupboard and the instructions are brief and uncomplicated. I recommend it.

Summary: Good college-bound gift.
Review: I have given this inexpensive book to several college bound students, including my daughter, who are unanimous in the opinion that it is great to be able to cook something besides spaghetti! The servings for one are easily doubled or quadrupled when company comes.

Summary: Give this to your kids!
Review: I heard this author on Vicki Gabereau's CBC radio show a few years ago and bought it. I then bought 3 for my twenty-something children and then gave it to all the young people on my Christmas list. It's quite fantastic in that it shows you how to make great simple international dishes using a simple list of ingredients and basic kitchen tools. Economical, quick recipes with great spice information. As for the comments by one reviewer regarding the review from Moscow....the author describes in the book how she learned to cook (often backstage with little resources) while touring with a dance company all over Europe.... I imagine Ross has created a "bible" for others living the simple life in any country who are grateful to have this terrific cookbook!

Summary: Excellent Eats
Review: I thoroughly enjoy this cookbook. I refer back to it many a night to come up with new and delicious dinner ideas for me and my family. I am a lone vegetarian in a carnivore family so I have found this cookbook very useful since it provides vegetarian substitutes for its meat recipes. The recipes are gourmet, easy to make, low fat yet yummy. I recommend the Greek pasta salad with feta and olives.
