Summary: And I Thought Making Tasty Chinese Food Takes a Lot of Time
Review: This Chinese/English book is full of delicious recipes that are simple and quick. The colorful pictures are enticing and the instructions are easy to follow.

Cooking is not my forte. Whenever I need to entertain friends with Chinese food, it is hard to find recipes that are simple to follow, less time consuming, delicious, and with ingredients that can be found without having to scour all over town for them. This book fills the need quite remarkably.

Some of the ingredients in the recipe are a bit exotic. This usually means that the end product may not be easily pleasing. However, all the recipes I have tried such as Stir-Fried Vegetable with Mushroom, Dry-Sauteed Preserved Salted Meat, Stir-Fried Sausages with Leeks, yield surprisingly pleasant results with adults. Dishes such as Stir-fried Mixed Vegetable with corn, peas, carrots, peanuts and cucumbers, Barbecued Chicken Legs and Braised Pork with Potatoes are all hits with the kids.

My favorites are the Poached Beef Slices with beef, celery and bean sprouts and Codfish with Preserved Mustard Green. These are healthy dishes and are easy and quick.

So wash your hands, dinner will be served in 15 minutes.
