Description:

Italian Dinners 1 2 3 is a uniquely styled cookbook divided into three sections, creating a flipbook effect. The first section is devoted to antipasti, soups, and salads; the second concentrates on main dishes; and the third is all about breads, desserts, and beverages. Unlike the animal flipbooks that combine a turtle's head with a giraffe's body and an elephant's feet, all the combinations in this book look--and taste--great together. The authors make suggestions about which dishes will work particularly well together, but there are no strict rules. You make the call.

The recipes are fast, simple, and easy to follow--like Scampi with Rice (suggested accompaniments: Portobello Crostini and Platter of Finger Fruits and Cheeses)--and they stress fresh ingredients whenever possible. Main courses include seafood, fish, chicken, and a variety of meat dishes, but offer many vegetarian entrees as well. Appetizers range from Stuffed Mushrooms to Spicy Broccoli in Hot Vinaigrette and Tomato and Mozzarella Salad. There's a recipe for basic garlic bread, but also one for Toasted Bread with Eggplant-Stuffed Peppers and Cheese. From the hundreds of recipes included in Italian Dinners 1 2 3, you can make thousands of combinations. Just think, you'll never have to cook--or eat--the same meal twice again.
