Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wonderful food and great writing
Review: I bought this book ten years ago in college and still find it to be a favorite. You'll appreciate its humorous take on the excess that is Southern food -- but you'll still be licking your spoon when making the lower-fat versions of Southern classics.

My favorites are the Cheese Pennies -- easily made and easily adapted -- and the soups: the Carrot Soup with Tarragon, as well as the Buttermilk-Potato soup, are delicious and easy to make for a few or a crowd.
