Rating: Summary: Misleading, to say the least. Review: Jennifer Darling has put together a fine little book, let me say that.... If you've never tossed salad, this book is for you. Darling teaches you lots of wonderful ways to continually keep your salad tossing moments fresh and exciting.
Rating: Summary: Disappointment Review: This book is an attractive little book with a photo of each salad by the recipe. Unfortunately, the recipes call for poor quality ingredients and sacrifices taste for convenience. This cookbook is better suited to a dorm room than a kitchen. Many of the recipes use a bottled dressing with the addition of an ingredient or two to make a unique dressing. For example, Italian dressing with soy sauce and toasted sesame oil is an Asian dressing and non-fat pineapple yogurt and curry powder is a tropical dressing. Much better, fresher dressings could be whipped up in only a couple of minutes from scratch. Non-fat Italian dressing, packaged greens, and packaged coleslaw mix are probably the most commonly used ingredients in the book. The last third of the book is pasta, rice, and legume salads.
